Introducing the Strake Foundation

An ARK focused foundation built to empower the entire ARK Ecosystem.

Today, we would like to share with you some exciting news on a new entity that will be coming to the ARK Ecosystem.

Introducing, The Strake Foundation, a brand new entity that will be focused on building as well as supporting development and outreach within the ARK Ecosystem. Created by ARK Co-Founders Mike Doty and Travis Walker with the vision to not only support ARK, but to also help sustainably grow the entire Ark Ecosystem.

Strake, meaning the outside plating or hull of a ship, is the perfect fit and metaphor for building on top of ARK itself. Choosing the name Strake for the foundation came from both nautical inspiration and shared backgrounds.

The Strake Foundation, incorporated in the Cayman Islands, will initially be focused on supporting the infrastructure of the ARK Blockchain. This includes operating a wide range of seed servers for the ARK Public Network.

In addition to handling the infrastructure, the Strake Foundation will be focused on supporting several existing ARK-based products such as the ARK Desktop Wallet and the ARK Mobile Wallet, as well as exciting new future developments.

The Strake Foundation is a lightweight and versatile entity that will be able to fully take advantage of the free and open source products created by ARK Ecosystem SCIC. While maintaining the public network and infrastructure is our first priority, we have a lot more we want to take on in the near-future.

This includes:

• Creating relationships across the industry and integrating the ARK crypto asset into as many exchanges and services as possible. 

• Exploring and Researching different use cases for ARK which cross into DeFi, DAO, AI, Gaming and NFTs. 

• Focusing on community management, hosting AMAs, hackathons, conferences and other outreach events to bring new users and developers into the ecosystem.

The website for the new foundation will be launching soon with an overview of our vision, goals and resources. We know there will be a lot of questions at the onset of this new endeavor, and we will be providing updates and a steady stream of information in the coming weeks.
